Local Context
In Japan’s FIT solar market, many solar PV projects use PV overloading to increase generation potential. However, when PV output exceeds the inverter or grid connection limit, part of the peak generation may be curtailed. For project owners, this peak-cut portion represents solar energy that has already been generated but cannot be fully converted into electricity sales.
Across Hokkaido, Aomori and other regions in Japan, Dyness BF200-DC is being applied to FIT solar-plus-storage projects to address this challenge. By storing the curtailed solar power in the battery and releasing it later, the system helps improve the utilization of oversized PV capacity and increase the amount of electricity sold.

From Peak-Cut Power to Higher Power Sales
The core value of this application is to turn peak-cut solar power into sellable electricity. During high-generation periods, the battery stores the portion of PV output that would otherwise be curtailed. When PV output becomes lower, the stored energy can be discharged, supporting a more stable and valuable FIT operation model.
Oversized PV design increases solar generation potential.
Part of the peak output may be curtailed when system limits are reached.
BF200-DC stores the peak-cut portion instead of losing it.
Stored energy is discharged later to help increase power sales.
Dyness Solution
Dyness BF200-DC is selected as the core energy storage solution for this application. As a DC-coupled all-in-one C&I ESS, BF200-DC is designed to work closely with solar PV systems and reduce unnecessary conversion losses compared with traditional AC-coupled structures.
Its integrated cabinet design helps simplify system configuration, installation and operation. With IP55 protection and C5 anti-corrosion performance, BF200-DC is suitable for long-term outdoor deployment. Through Dyness Cloud, the system also supports visualized monitoring, customized operation strategies, smart load control and intelligent O&M.

Customer Value
By storing the peak-cut portion of oversized PV generation, BF200-DC helps FIT solar projects in Japan make better use of solar power and increase electricity sales.
The system also supports reduced conversion losses, simplified outdoor deployment and smarter long-term operation. For FIT solar-plus-storage applications in Japan, BF200-DC is not only an energy storage device. It is a solution that helps convert curtailed solar generation into higher project value.
